Dr. Elizabeth McLaughlin

Registered Psychologist

Dr. Elizabeth McLaughlin joined Developing Minds Psychology Centre to support children, youth, and their caregivers with issues such as anxiety, adjustment to life stressors, and making valuable behavioural changes.  She also has expertise working with youth living with chronic medical conditions and youth with medical anxiety.

Elizabeth creates a welcoming and accepting environment with her sincere, warm, and collaborative approach. She is trained in evidence-based treatments, drawing primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

Elizabeth completed her undergraduate training at Queen’s University (1994), followed by her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Dalhousie University (2002) with a pre-doctoral residency in Child Clinical and Health Psychology at the London Health Sciences Centre. She has been registered as a Psychologist with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology since 2002.

Please note that since Elizabeth works at IWK Health in the Pediatric Health Psychology Service 4 days per week, she is only available for appointments at Developing Minds on Thursdays.

Dr. Elizabeth works on Thursdays.
